The beautiful town of Cairns is located in tropical north Queensland, and only three hours by flight from Sydney. This town is the perfect place to stay when you want to visit the Great Barrier Reef or the lush Daintree rainforest.
I started my travels in Cairns with friends, but the last three days I spent on my own. And I found the perfect place to stay…
Mantra Group, a short introduction…

The properties they manage range from luxury retreats and coastal resorts to a home away from home in the CBD. Mantra Group consists of Art Series, Peppers, Mantra and BreakFree. I was one of the lucky people who got to check out one of their coastal properties: Mantra Trilogy in Cairns.
Perfect location!
Mantra Trilogy is conveniently located in the heart of Cairns, right at the Cairns esplanade. Within walking distance you’ll find plenty of restaurants to enjoy breakky, lunch or dinner, and also the Cairns Esplanade pool, where you can go for a swim on those tropical hot days, is located very close to Mantra Trilogy. And should you be staying in one of the apartments and you’re planning to prepare your dinner yourself: Woolworths is just five minutes away.
Checking in
Mantra Trilogy thanks its name to the three towers that together make up the property, and as soon as you walk into the first building where the reception is located you’re greeted by comfort and luxury. The attentive staff checked me in effortlessly and quickly, and I soon found myself in the elevator up to the 5th floor where my one-bedroom apartment was located.
So much space!
My apartment was big. Really big. It had a spacious bedroom, a big bathroom, a very big living room with open kitchen and two (!!) balconies! The view from the second balcony was perfect, overlooking the swimming pool and the beautiful mountains. Now all I needed was for that darn rain to go away…
While I was waiting for the rain to stop I didn’t have any trouble entertaining myself. The apartment was fully equipped with a washing machine, and I don’t know if this is the old lady in me, but I LOVE doing laundry. So whilst it was raining outside I was cozily inside doing laundry, checking every TV channel on my big flat screen and taking a hot bath. There are worse places to be stuck when it rains 😉 Eventually the rain stopped and I was able to enjoy a bit of pool time 🙂
