Before visiting the Australian Open in Melbourne I would’ve never guessed it is so much more than just watching a tennis match – it is a unique experience and so much fun!

If you’re not a huge tennis fan but your friends are all going to the AO then don’t even think twice – JOIN THEM!

Here’s why attending the Australian Open is so much fun – even if you’re not a huge tennis fan.

1. Festival vibes

With pop-up bars, food trucks and music everywhere, the Australian Open feels like more like a festival. Gather your best buddies, order your favorite drink and enjoy the good vibes all day.

2. Free stuff, yaaaas!

Maybe this is a Dutch-people-thing, but who doesn’t love free stuff? Most people do, right? There are a lot of brands at the Australian Open who are more than happy to gift you their free merchandise. My favorite item was a headband by Kia – the same one Nadal wears, whooo!

3. So many fun things to do!

With so many fun things to do (and win!) at the Australian Open you’ll easily be entertained all day. One of my favorite games was at at the Kia Seltos stand, where a little dance-off was waiting for us.

First we got into the new Kia Seltos to watch a video of Nadal explaining us how the game works. Nadal has been one of Kia’s global ambassadors for 16 years.

Look at us go, trying to beat the beat! 😀

Now I’m not the best dancer so obviously I didn’t do too well, but it was so much fun the result didn’t matter 🙂

4. Watch games even without tickets

A ground pass gives you access to the Australian Open area, but did you know you can actually watch a ton of matches with the ground pass as well? Okay, you won’t be able to see Federer against Djokovic, but trust me when I say there are plenty of other exciting matches waiting for you 🙂

Have fun at the Australian Open! 🙂
