Bondi Beach: home to hot surfers, handsome lifeguards and a stunning beach – but also where you’ll find cafes that serve the most instagrammable food.
One of my favorite things to do on the weekend is to go out for brunch. I’ve tested my fair share of Bondi cafes and rated them on their prettiest presentations combined with the best tasting food. And these four cafes are the creme de la creme that made the cut 😉
1. XS Espresso
Panckes, (milk) shakes or “just” smashed avo on toast? It doesn’t matter what you order because XS Espresso knows how to turn every dish into a beautiful work of art.
With five different locations in Sydney there’s always an XS Espresso near you. My go-to XS is the one on Hall Street in Bondi. The staff is super friendly and I never met a dish I didn’t like 😉
2. Preach Cafe
Preach is located right on Campbell Parade, directly opposite the beach. It’s famous for its delicious Pancake stacks.
If you want to grab a spot here over the weekend be prepared to wait 20 minutes or so: this cafe is a true hit amongst both locals and tourists. But hey, how bad is waiting when you have beautiful Bondi Beach right in front of you? <3
3. Speedos
Speedos has recently been named the “most instagrammable cafe in the world“. I have to agree: the food at Speedos is absolutely delicious and very pretty, and the beach location makes it even more instaworthy. But I do have to say I think there are places that outshine Speedos when it comes to “instaworthiness” and interior.
4. Depot
When I have brunch at Depot I always face one hard decision: will I go for the Haloumi Stack or the Gluten Free Pancakes? This North Bondi based cafe is a local favorite as well, with people lining up on both Saturdays and Sundays.
I wasn’t sure to include Depot in this article because the owners don’t always treat their staff right. But I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt as their food is definitely a 10/10.
There are many great restaurants and cafes in Bondi to have breakky, lunch, brunch or dinner, but when it comes to pretty food these four are definitely winners. Bon appetit! 🙂
